SUBJECT: Market research is being conducted to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements for qualification and production of the Display Unit NSN 7025-01-679-1505, Part Number AVM4128QNH-B05005. ITEM DESCRIPTION: The Star Safire II AN/AAQ-36 system is an airborne Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) imaging system used on the Air Force UH-1N helicopter. The multi-sensor thermal imaging system was built to perform reconnaissance, search and rescue, drug interdiction and law enforcement support functions. System components consist of a stabilized Turret/FLIR Unit (TFU), Central Electronics Unit (CEU), Hand Control Unit (HCU), Video Cassette Recorder (VCR), Cockpit Displays (CDs), and Flight Engineer Display (FED). The FED is an 8.4? diagonal flat panel display mounted on an articulating arm mounting bracket. Impediment to Competition: The original equipment manufacturer for this item is Mercury Mission Systems. LLC (CAGE 096Y5), which maintains its configuration by part number and software version. The Government does not own any data, drawings, schematics, or any other releasable technical data in support of this requirement. As a result, Mercury Mission Systems. LLC is the only known source with adequate knowledge of the FED performance requirements and possession of the required technical data and capabilities needed to produce this item and ensure compatibility of the equipment.� INTEREST The DLA/AWB Contracting Office intends to award a sole source contract to Mercury Mission Systems. LLC for the manufacture of the FED in support of the UH-1N helicopter program.� Other interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than 23 February 2024 by emailing Terrence Wideman at terrence.wideman.2@us.af.mil. �The Government intends to procure these items using Other Than Full and Open Competition as prescribed by FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements.
