Description

This Sources Sought Announcement is to assist the US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Soldier Center (DEVCOM SC) to identify potential sources to provide a 3D Digital Image Correlation (DIC) system to characterize material behavior for headbourne protection. Background: The US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Soldier Center (DEVCOM SC) requires the purchase of a software system that can interface with two Shimadzu high-speed cameras that capture up to 5,000,000 frames per-second. Once the images are captured, the software should measure the deformation in a series of images by evaluating the strain and displacement on the surface of the sample by the dot speckle pattern. Software should include a method to dynamically view and present data. It should also include a calibration method for maintaining accuracy. There is potential for conducting tests in outdoor conditions, so it is ideal for the proposed software solution to adjust and correct the data accordingly due to environmental factors such as wind. Additional requirements include: Installation & training for software system. Government Furnished Equipment/Information/Computer Utilization: N/A This Sources Sought Announcement is issued solely for information and planning purposes, and to identify interested sources. Response to this Sources Sought Announcement is voluntary and no reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this and any follow-on information requests. All submissions become Government property and will not be returned. RESPONSES: Interested parties may identify their interest and capability by sending responses regarding this requirement to the NSRDEC via e-mail ONLY to alexander.m.ponusky.civ@army.mil no later than February 23, 2024 by 1:00 p.m. EST. All costs associated with responding to this Notice will be solely at the expense of the interested party.
