Description
The Government is conducting market research to identify potential sources that possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet qualification requirements to procure and manufacture the C-5 Machined Aluminum Panels listed below: NOUN P/N Walkway Panel 4F39055-101A (Figure 1) Crew Entry Threshold Panel 4F11194-101A (Figure 2) This requirement is for procuring and manufacturing services for 50 of each panel. Our procuring and manufacturing services strategy is a one-year contract that will continue through FY25. The Governments need for procuring and manufacturing services are required to provide structural support on the C-5 aircraft. The legacy walkway and Crew Entry Threshold panels on all C-5 aircraft were made from honeycomb core. The newly designed walkway and Crew Entry Threshold panels are made from a machined aluminum. C-5 Crew Entry Threshold Panel extends along the left-hand side of the fuselage interior from FS 484 to FS 524. The walkway panel extends along the left-hand side of the fuselage interior from FS 524 to FS 604. The intended purpose of replacing these panels is due to the high traffic area of the panel location at the entrance of the aircraft. The legacy panels require frequent replacements or repairs. The machined panels are expected to have an increased service expectancy by 10 to 1 ratio compared to the legacy panels. Figure 1 and Figure 2 are examples of the newly designed machined Panels. Questions relative to this market research should be addressed to Benjamin Morris at Benjamin.morris.6@us.af.mil. Responses to RFI must be sent via email to: Benjamin.morris.6@us.af.mil are due 23 Feburary 2024 by 5:00 pm
