Description
This Sources Sought notice is for informational and planning purposes only. It does not constitute a solicitation and is not to be considered as a commitment by the Government. All firms responding to this Sources Sought notice are advised that their response to this notice is not a request that will be considered for contract award. The information from this market research is for planning purposes only and will assist the Government in planning its acquisition strategy. This is strictly market research. The Government will entertain question concerning this market research. The intent of this notice is to determine the availability of business to provide a Liquid-Cooled Induction Heating System for the Grand Coulee Dam in Washington State with the following specifications or something comparable to it. 1) Heating system shall be comprised of a controller, extension cable and liquid-cooled induction heater elements. 2) Controller shall: a) Be capable of either timed or manual temperature control options. b) Operate using 460VAC/60hz/3�, 60-amp maximum input power. c) Have a 35KW (kilowatt) rated output (minimum) at 100% duty cycle. d) Have automatic shutdown in the event of short to ground. e) Include �Power Available� and �Blown Fuse� indicators. 3) System shall: a) Include an induction cooler with coolant. b) Include a 25-foot (minimum) extension cable length between controller and heater. c) Include an 80-foot (minimum) liquid-cooled heating cable. d) Include a 50-foot (minimum) high temperature rope. e) Include a preheat cable cover that covers entire length of heating cable. f) Include a preheat insulation blanket that covers entire length of heating cable. g) Temperature sensor with connectors and controls. h) Be capable of preheating steel thrust runner assemblies to 200�F (degrees Fahrenheit) within approximately 2 hrs. i) Include a cart or wheeled running gear. 4) Controller, extension cable and heaters shall be electrically insulated with sealed electrical connections. The capability statement must include the following: 1) Company name and point of contact information. 2) UEI Number 3) Business size whether large or small. If small please provide size/certification (to include 8(A), HUBZONE, SDVOSB, ETC.) Responses are due no later than 17:00 PM, PT, Monday, February 12, 2024, and shall be electronically submitted to Terry Mest at tmest@usbr.gov. All responses will be used to determine the appropriate acquisition strategy for a potential future acquisition. Response is strictly voluntary; no reimbursement will be made for any cost associated with providing information in response to this sources sought or any follow-up information requests.
