Description

In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, the Department of Energy (DOE), National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a sole source basis to Yonekura to purchase a heated stage, replacement parts, and consumables for the confocal microscope heated stage system because NETL�s research needs requires heating chambers of specific dimensions and fitting systems that are manufactured only by Yonekura. The heating chamber must be created and tested by Yonekura prior to use to ensure appropriate performance and that there is no failure during super rapid heating and cooling of the equipment without using Yonekura as the only vendor qualified to provide installation, adjustment, and training for this unique system. �Yonekura systems ensures compatibility with the existing systems.� This is considered a sole source to Yonekura because, to the best of the NETL�s knowledge, based on market research conducted Yonekura is the only known source that can provide this type of parts/service.� No known potential alternate sources exist which could satisfy NETL's requirement.� The total estimated cost for all items noted above is $51,410.00 This notice of intent is not a request for quote/proposal.� Any interested party that believes it is capable of meeting the NETL requirement described herein may identify themselves and must provide evidence of their capability to fulfill the requirement being requested by 13:00 ES on February 9, 2024.� Responses must be submitted in writing to Shannon.Lynch@netl.doe.gov no later than the time and date noted above. Telephone responses and requests will not be received. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.� Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
