- Request for Information: The Government is issuing this Request for Information to determine a competitive basis for the procurement described. This is not a solicitation. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this survey. This survey is for market research purposes only. Only contractors capable of performing this type of work should respond to this Request for Information. Requirement: The Contractor shall provide all resources necessary. Training Rooms and Projectors will be on location. The course shall be made available for offering as Arc Flash and Electrical Safety Training not less than 16hrs in length for a class size of up to 20 employees covering safe work practices for 50 volts and up to 161Kv. Training locations are listed below. The Contractor shall provide training by a licensed journeyman electrician or NFPA certified electrical safety compliance (professional certification). This course instructor shall provide certificates to each successful attendee to be valid for 3 years. The course of instruction shall include printed handouts. The contractor shall provide a digital editable copy of the training for internal retainment and usage to include all knowledge and or skills checks with answers. At a minimum, the training for Arc Flash and Electrical Safety shall include all topics identified below: Electrical Safe work practices for working on or near 50 volts up to 161Kv NFPA 70E -Latest Version (2024) OSHA requirements 1910.331-335 EP 385-1-100 (30 Sept 14) EM 385-1-1 Section 11 Electrical (2014) Define scope of which individuals are exposed Defined Employee / Employer responsibilities Skills and techniques necessary to distinguish exposed energized electrical conductors and circuit parts from other parts of electrical equipment; Skills and techniques necessary to determine the nominal voltage of exposed energized electrical conductors and circuit parts; Approach distances specified in Table 130.4(C)(a) and Table 130.4(C)(b) and the corresponding voltages to which the qualified person will be exposed; Decision-making process necessary to determine the degree and extent of the hazard and the PPE and job planning necessary to perform the task safely; How to avoid exposure to arc flash hazards How to determine the degree of each hazard: labels, work permits, one-line diagrams; How to minimize risk by body position; How Arc Flash Boundaries are identified, implemented, and enforced; Required level, proper use, fit, and location of PPE for each hazard/risk category; Required maintenance and inspection procedures of PPE; Required maintenance practices and insulated tools to mitigate energy levels; Emergency procedures and electrical shock rescue / release; Minimizing Arc Flash Hazards; Define mandatory and permissive rules; Discussion of electrical safety plan ; Conditions of maintenance; Student examination at end of class to test comprehension; Student table top practical exercises and evaluations of scenario based tasks. Performance Locations: The following locations have been selected: Nashville Area Office, 1180 Cinder Road, Old Hickory, TN, 37138 Eastern Kentucky Area Office, 855 Boat Dock Road, Somerset KY, 42501 Western Kentucky Area Office, 200 Barkley Dam Overlook, Grand Rivers KY, 42045 Mid Cumberland Area Office, 71 Corps Lane, Carthage, TN 37030 East Tennessee River Area Office, 6699 Highway 321 South, Lenoir City, TN 377772 Mid Tennessee River Area Office, 5400 Lake Resort DR, Florence AL, 35630� The training locations include the following items.� The Contractor shall provide the remaining tools necessary to complete the class and practical exercises.� � Tables Chairs Projector screen Period of Performance: Base contract shall be for the duration of 30 calendar days.� Each Option, if exercised, shall be for the duration of 60 calendar days - beginning and ending on a date to be confirmed with the Contracting Officer, POC and Contractor. �� The Base contract will be awarded for 2 classes at the Nashville Area Office Location. If exercised, Options 1 through 4 will be 4 additional classes each at location to be coordinated by the POC and Contracting Officer.� If exercised, Option 5 will be 2 additional classes each at location to be coordinated by the POC and Contracting Officer.� *Please note this description is subject to change.
