Description

Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Network Contracting Office 21 (NCO 21) in support of VA Pacific Islands Health Care System: AKAKA Clinic, 91-1051 Franklin D. Roosevelt Avenue, Kapolei, Hawaii 96707 This Notice of Intent is provided to advise that the Government intends to solicit and negotiate a Sole Source, Firm-Fixed-Priced Purchase Order with only one source, Aldevra. The procurement is for Sterile Cabinet Storage Systems for the AKAKA clinic. This is a Brand Name or Equal requirement, which uses the Air Innovations Sterile Storage Cabinet (Model: SSC4500DX) as a basis of design. The Sterile Cabinet Storage System provides capabilities to maintain sterile conditions for various inventories, which is required by medical facilities to be compliant with industry and organizational standards. The AKAKA Clinic, being a new facility, can take advantage of the size and flexibility that these units provide in being portable for use in various locations. This action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.501(a)(1)(ii) and 41 USC §1901, only one will meet the Government s needs. Only one source is capable of responding due to the unique or specialized nature of the supplies and/or services. It is the Government s belief that the proposed candidate is the sole distributor of the Air Innovations Sterile Storage Cabinet systems can meet the agency s needs. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 339112 (Surgical Appliance and Instrument Manufacturing), 1000 employees size standard and the Product Service Code (PSC) is 6530 (Hospital Furniture, Equipment, Utensils, and Supplies). Telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any business that believes it can provide a Sterile Storage Cabinet System may give written notice to joel.brown6@va.gov by the due date and time stated in the General Information Heading . All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirement. Responses will be considered by the Government; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Your response should include a STATEMENT OF CAPABLILITY, GSA SCHEDULE INFORMATION, DUNS#, BUSINESS SIZE, AND SOCIO-ECONOMIC STATUS. THIS SYNOPSIS DOES NOT COMMIT THE GOVERNMENT TO CONTRACT FOR ANY SUPPLY OR SERVICE. THE GOVERNMENT WILL NOT PAY FOR ANY INFORMATION OR ADMINISTRATIVE COSTS INCURRED IN RESPONSE TO THIS SYNOPSIS.
