Description
The US Department of States (DOS) Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), has program authority derived from the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961. The International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Section (INL) of the US Embassy Panama, Panama City, is responsible for providing assistance to host governments to develop and implement effective counter narcotics, anticrime, and border control programs. INL works closely with US law enforcement agencies to ensure that Panama has commodities, and tools needed to combat illicit drug traffic and transnational organized crime. In the context of the SIU Vetted Units project, the Panamanian government is providing Building 115 on the Servicio de Proteccion Institucional (SPI) Installation at Corozal East, Panama City, Panama for use by sensitive Panamanian law enforcement as an operations center, offices, and dormitories. The building is a structurally sound 3-story (basement, ground floor, second floor) concrete building built by the US Army Corp of Engineers in the 1940s. It was recently renovated with funding from a US court asset forfeiture judgement and INL Panama funding. This facility allows the project to enhance the SIUs ability to conduct complex bilateral transnational narcotics trafficking investigations, leading to reduced drug flow to the US. There is a need to provide maintenance and specific services for specific equipment and systems in Bldg. 115. The SIU project works 24/7 during the whole year, and maintenance is required to ensure a smooth, efficient operation. The specific services required are the maintenance of the air conditioning system, generators, water tanks, centrifugal pumps, sewage, safety & security related equipment, drainage and sludge pumps, kitchen equipment, a fire alarm system and the periodic maintenance of washers and dryers. Additionally, it is required general cleaning services and pest control inside premises. Please see the Statement of Work for more details on the requirement. Please note, this requirement is to be performed in Panama.
