Description
VENDOR QUESTIONS & ANSWERS Q: What is the square footage of the area required to be cleaned? A: Approximately 157,290 square feet excluding basement , see attachment (only corridors and toilets needed to be cleaned in basement). Q: Why is this a one year contract? A: Hines has another janitorial contract ongoing for a separate area of their campus. This requirement is being procured for a limited period in order to combine both contracts into one all-encompassing procurement at a later date. Q: Who is the current/incumbent contractor and contract value? A: Slaughters Commercial Service Corp / $932,119.60 (short term contract - 36C25223P0693) POP: 6/1/23 1/31/2024 Q: Will contractor employees be required to pass a background check and wear a badge? A: Yes, contractors will have to obtain PIV badges and are subject to the same background check as Federal employees Q: Is there a bond requirement? A: No Q: Is there currently the same number of contractors performing on the contract as are required in the current PWS solicitation? A: The current PWS does not specify how many contracted employees are required to be on site. The new PWS does. The Government is unable to discern if the current staffing level will be similar to the required staffing level of the new PWS. Q: How many times a year is strip wax required? A: The expectation is that the floors are maintained by the contractor (mopping, burnishing), the in-house overnight crew are currently responsible for the initial waxing of the rooms and hallways. (usually done 2 times a year) Q: What is the flooring type break down (Noria flooring, VCT, Tile, Carpet)? A: Estimate of 60% VCT, 20% no wax, 10% carpet, 10% tile (bathrooms) Q: How many bathrooms need to be serviced? A: Approximately 85 toilets, not counting basement (see attachments) Q: Is a floor plan available? A: See attachments Q: What does windows cleaned monthly mean? A: See page 9 of the PWS for information regarding cleaning of windows Q: Is terminal cleaning involved for surgery turnovers? A: No requirement for surgical turnovers
