- Industry Day Virtual Conference: National Precision Oncology Program: Tumor Molecular Profiling/Testing Services ---------------------------------------------------------- The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announces an Industry Day Virtual Conference to acquire information from Contractors with capability and expertise in providing tumor molecular profiling for clinical care. Contractors with test offerings spanning both solid and hematological malignancies using methods such as next generation sequencing (NGS) panels, NGS comprehensive genomic profiling (CGP) as well as complementary tests to support NGS such as immunohistochemistry (IHC) and fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) for biomarkers such as PD-L1, MMR, HER2 etc. are encouraged to apply. This notice should not be construed (1) as a commitment by the Department of Veterans Affairs to enter into an agreement with any entity participating in the industry day conference, (2) as a commitment to issue a solicitation, or (3) as a request for proposals. This Industry Day will be held on November 9-10, 2022, TIME: (TBD) as a Virtual Event. VA s National Precision Oncology Tumor Molecular Profiling/Testing Services Industry Day will focus on the capability, capacity, and viability of private industry to provide best business solutions for the enablement of Tumor Molecular Profiling/Testing Services to support oncology clinical care and data needs across the VA enterprise. The contractor presentation focus shall be on molecular testing assays and services in both solid and hematological malignancies with the scope defined below. If your company would like to participate in the Industry Day, please complete the attached Industry Day Request form included at the end of this notice and send to Michelle Bailey at michelle.bailey@va.gov and Zachary Wilcox at zachary.wilcox@va.gov by October 27, 2022,2:00pm EST. Any detailed requirements and instructions will be provided through a formal solicitation however Industry Day presentations must cover (at a minimum), the following elements. All capabilities are not required to participate in the industry day event. Testing methodology Ability to detect cancer relevant biomarkers across tumor types. This includes gene alterations, tumor mutation burden, microsatellite instability, loss of heterozygosity (LOH), homologous recombination deficiency (HRD). DNA-seq, RNA-seq, IHC, FISH methods and their utilization to detect various biomarkers (e.g.; Gene fusion detection by RNA seq) Targeted panel, large panel, whole exome, or whole genome strategy for providing a comprehensive solid tumor profile Tumor only vs tumor normal methods (if utilized) Any Research Use Only (RUO) capabilities of the test to detect emerging biomarkers. Test performance (i.e., sensitivity and specificity). Sample requirements (type/amount of sample) for testing. Histopathology review for tumor samples and Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) and Ribonucleic acid (RNA) extraction for both tumor and normal samples with return of any unused materials. Regulatory status if FDA approved or submitted to the FDA. Turnaround times for testing and return of results to providers. Example clinical grade patient reports and contractor s ability to return data generated from testing to the VA in custom structured data formats via secure file transfer mechanisms. Roadmap for field support and evidence of training and education capacities needed to implement testing in a large and diverse healthcare setting Roadmap for contractor s planned improvements to current tests and technology or future availability of new tests. Capability and experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Integration of molecular testing data with health care systems. Registration for this Industry Day is on a first come, first served basis and registration forms must be completed and returned no later than October 27, 2022, 2:00 pm EST.
