- THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) TO IDENTIFY POTENTIAL SOURCES AND CONDUCT OTHER MARKET RESEARCH. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS, QUOTES, OR BIDS. NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED FROM THIS SYNOPSIS. PLEASE DO NOT REQUEST A COPY OF THE SOLICITATION FOR THIS REQUIREMENT, AS ONE DOES NOT EXIST. The Western Area Power Administration (WAPA) Sierra Nevada Region (SN) is seeking information regarding potential Offerors and service capabilities The anticipated contract requirement may require the Contractor to provide licensed materials, or a data service, which consists of formulated rates for forward pricing of wholesale electric rates. WAPA needs this information to forecast forward merchant market daily on-peak and off-peak pricing. The data service must include accurate, reliable forward prices that can be used for indexation based on federal guidelines for price reporting. This daily service provides the necessary information to execute the mission of WAPA's Annual, Seasonal, Monthly, Day-ahead, and Real-time marketers and for resource management. The methodology has been approved by the US Federal Energy Regulatory Committee (FERC), an independent agency that regulates the interstate transmission of electricity, natural gas, and oil. The required pricing locations are Henry Hub and PG&E City Gate for natural gas and NP15 and California-Oregon Border (COB) for electricity. Please see the attached DRAFT version Performance Work Statement for a more detailed description of the anticipated requirement. Changes may be / are anticipated to be made to the PWS prior to any subsequent solicitation.�No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information to this synopsis or any follow-up information requests. This synopsis is to notify the industry of a potential requirement and to perform market research regarding potentially qualified sources, commercial capabilities, and business size classifications (small business, large business, service-disabled veteran, etc.) Any information received in response to this RFI may be used in any subsequent solicitation. Information marked with a statement (such as �proprietary� or �confidential�) intended to restrict distribution will not be distributed outside of the Government, except as required by law.� The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for the proposed contract action is anticipated to be 541990 All Other Professional, Scientific and Technical Services $16.50 The proposed contract action is anticipated to be issued as a firm-fixed price award.
