- 1.� Synopsis This synopsis is in accordance with FAR Part 5, is a Notice of Intent to award a sole source. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. This is not a solicitation or request for offers. No solicitation package is available and email requests will not be honored. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Defense Health Agency (DHA) intends to award a sole source contract to the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses, Inc.to furnish: Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses Guidelines for Perioperative Practice, eGuidelines Plus�. 2.� Background This Individual Justification is submitted to award a follow-on contract for the single platform, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) database, Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses Guidelines for Perioperative Practice, eGuidelines Plus�. This proprietary database from the publisher AORN includes customizable templates, illustrated procedures reference, searchable Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) published by AORN, as well as the Guidelines for Perioperative Practice and approved standards, recommended practices, guidelines, and guidance statements regarding the reprocessing of reusable medical equipment (RME). This contract will be Firm-Fixed Price. Additionally, this contemplated contract would be awarded to the large business, Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses, Inc. the publisher and only authorized seller of the database. 3. Description DHA seeks to award a follow-on contract for the COTS database, AORN Guidelines for Perioperative Practice, eGuidelines Plus�. This product provides Customers with access to approved standards, recommended practices, guidelines, and guidance statements regarding the reprocessing of reusable medical equipment (RME).� The proper reprocessing of RME is crucial for the safe delivery of surgical care.� DHA�s Sterile Processing Service personnel relies on the up-to-date information to ensure the safe practice of reprocessing RME.� 4. NAICS Code The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) for this requirement is 519290 with the size standard of 1,000 employees. The Federal Supply Code (FSC) / Product Service Code (PSC) procurement is 7H20. This procurement will be made utilizing Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) in conjunction with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Products and Commercial Services procedures. 5.� Submission Instructions: Interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement within 15 calendar days of the publication of this notice. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. No reimbursement for any cost connected with providing capability information will be provided. The point of contact is: Linda M.
