Subject: �Alcohol and Substance Use Disorders Research Program Public Request for Information THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP) OR A REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS (RFQ); IT IS STRICTLY A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI). �NEITHER UNSOLICITED PROPOSALS NOR ANY OTHER KINDS OF OFFERS WILL BE CONSIDERED IN RESPONSE TO THIS RFI. �NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED PURSUANT TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. 1.0 DISCLAIMER: �This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation. �Neither unsolicited proposals nor any other kind of offers will be considered in response to this RFI. �Responses to this notice are not offers and will not be accepted by the government to form a binding contract. �Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI. �The information which is being requested shall be entered into Survey Monkey; therefore, the Government is unable to protect proprietary/sensitive information. Interested parties shall not submit proprietary/sensitive information through Survey Monkey. �Responses to this RFI will not be returned. �At this time, questions concerning the composition and requirements for a future RFP will not be entertained. 2.0 PURPOSE: �The Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP) seeks feedback to inform potential future Alcohol and Substance Use Disorders Research Program (ASUDRP) areas of emphasis and associated research funding opportunities.� Although fiscal year 2024 (FY24) funds have not been appropriated, the ASUDRP is requesting this information to support program planning processes.� The CDMRP wants to hear from all audiences, interested parties, and individuals from academia, industry, community and non-profit organizations, scientific and professional organizations, federal agencies, and the public.� This RFI is for information and planning purposes only and should not be construed as a solicitation or an obligation on the part of the ASUDRP or the Department of Defense. 3.0 BACKGROUND: ��The CDMRP represents a unique partnership between the U.S. Congress, the military, and the public to fund innovative and impactful medical research in targeted program areas. The CDMRP ASUDRP�s vision is to improve the clinical outcomes of alcohol, opioid, and other substance use disorders. The ASUDRP�s mission is to explore integrated approaches to address alcohol and substance use disorders and reduce the number of opioid and other substance use-related deaths, through multi-disciplinary, team-based research efforts that translate basic knowledge into enhanced clinical pharmacological treatment protocols and enhanced quality of life for Service Members, Veterans, and the American public. Appropriations for the ASUDRP from FY10 through FY23 totaled $56.1 million.
