- Description
- Statement of Work DaVinci Robot System Delivery Order per SAC Mandatory contract 36C10G19D0092 INTRODUCTION: The VAMC Asheville Surgical Department, needs the DaVinci Surgical Robot. This will be Asheville s second DaVinci Robotic Surgical System. The potential for robotic surgery volume at VAMC Asheville has grown significantly. Robotic surgery has become the gold standard and without a surgical robot VAMC Asheville is outsourcing patients to community care. Thus, there is a need for a DaVinci Xi Robotic Surgical System and will increase patient access across multiple specialties. The robotic platform allows more procedures and patients to be approached minimally invasively, which translates to improved downstream clinical outcomes, such as less pain, fewer blood transfusions, less ICU utilization, shorter length of stay, fewer readmissions, and lower wound complications and surgical site infections (SSI) rates compared to open approach. For procedures such as prostatectomy, rectal surgery, thoracic surgery, and abdominal wall reconstruction with component separation, the robotic platform allows for patients to be approached minimally invasively who otherwise would require an open procedure. All contractor personnel shall report and obtain a short-term identification badge issued by the Biomed department. Such badge shall be worn by the individual and prominently displayed at all times while on VA Property. No employee of the contractor shall traverse the site without a valid identification badge issued by the VA. To obtain a short-term identification badge, contractor personnel shall present to the BioMed Dept a valid (non-expired) photo identification issued by a US federal, state, or local government agency. After hours all contractor personnel (without exception) must report to the Biomed Department, to sign in where a contractor identification badge is verified before any work is performed. Contractor personnel will be escorted by Clinical Engineering staff for the duration of work performed and return to the same location to sign out and turn-in documented service report for the service performed The total price for this equipment is $2,404,810.00.00, which includes manufacturer s warranty, shipping & handling (FOB Destination), professional installation and on-site training.
