Description
NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. This is not a solicitation or request for offers. No solicitation package is available and email requests will not be honored. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) intends to award a sole source purchase order to AOSense, Inc. of (Fremont, CA) to furnish: Cold strontium beam source with accessories See Attached Schedule of Supplies/Services X See Chart Below Description Line Item 1 Quantity 1 AOSense cold atomic beam source: Gen 3 oven with updated heat shields Custom vacuum chamber with AR-coated windows for cooling laser; rotatable CF133 cold beam output flange 100 L/s and 5 L/s getter pumps; 3 L/s ion pump with controller All-metal right-angle CF133 roughing valve Integrated compact gate valve on cold atom beam output port Mounted in-vacuum Zeeman slower (ZS) and dual 2DMOTs Integrated transverse viewports on the hot beam, to allow blue laser lock. Hot window for longitudinal ZS beam launch Oven loaded with strontium, chamber baked, getters activated Manual and datasheet with beam absorption measurement Line Item 2 Quantity 1 System mounts and shipping materials: Shock-absorbing, double-enclosed HAZMAT compatible shipping containers and inner packaging. Compliant with shipping requirements for strontium Line Item 3 Quantity 1 AOSense free-space-input Zeeman slower beam periscope: Integrated on a 16-mm cage subassembly. Mounts directly to AOSense cold atomic beam system, with registration to the viewport and/or the 2DMOT laser plate Includes primary and secondary dielectric-coated turning mirrors, each on tip/tilt kinematic mounts. ncludes an integrated polarization-cleanup PBS cube Includes a quarter-waveplate on a rotation mount, for circular polarization of the output beam following the PBS Transverse ports on the PBS remain usable for chamber bore white-light inspection, and optimization of the ZS beam. All optics are coated for low-loss operation at 461 nm. Line Item 4 Quantity 1 Laser cooling optical assembly to provide dual beam shaping and routing to the in-vacuum laser-cooling 2DMOTs. Fiber-coupled input. Outputs a pair of elongated beams with circular polarization, directed at the proper angles for atom beam interface. Optical chain provides control of all beam expansion, polarization control, and pointing degrees of freedom. Breadboard is mechanically registered to the atom chamber to allow disassembly without loss of coarse alignment. Line Item 5 Quantity 1 Freight costs for shipping an AOSense Sr cold atomic beam source to Washington, DC. Includes HAZMAT handling fees DAP shipping terms. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) for this requirement is 541715 with the size standard of 1,250.
