- REQUEST FOR INFORMATION EXTREME COLD WEATHER FUEL HANDLER GLOVE � GENERAL INFORMATION. This Request for Information (RFI) initiates market research under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 10 and is not a Request for Proposal. �The information herein only initiates communication with industry in order to assess market potential. �No solicitation document exists at this time. �This RFI constitutes no Government obligation to procure these items or issue a solicitation. The Government does not have an obligation to pay for information responding to this RFI and will not accept any responses as offers. �Vendors should mark any proprietary information clearly and appropriately. PURPOSE.� The Product Manager for Soldier Clothing & Individual Equipment (PdM SCIE) is seeking potential sources for an Extreme Cold Weather Fuel Handler Glove that provides increased protection in cold and extreme cold weather environments over the existing fuel handler glove. The desired material solution will provide three functional properties: environmental protection from the elements (i.e. cold, snow, etc.), Petroleum, Oil & Lubricants (POL) protection, and a high degree of tactility and dexterity. PdM SCIE is looking for a durable, flexible, and impermeable material that will hold up to harsh environments (below freezing temperatures, ice/snow/water) while providing a high-level thermal insulation. �Preference is for handwear solutions that are currently commercially available. ����� The solution should incorporate the following attributes: Durable Flexibility in extreme cold weather conditions (-40�F) Extreme cold weather protection (-40�F) Waterproof POL Proof No Melt-No Drip next to skin Fast drying Other desired attributes are: Launderable Flame resistant Dipped construction with insulated liner No polyfluoroalkyl (PFAS) containing materials Berry Amendment compliant Deficiencies in any of the attributes listed above should be noted in the submission. � SUBMISSION REQUEST.� This RFI does not have an associated page restriction. �However, an executive summary, not to exceed five (5) pages, should accompany each submission. �Responses may include any advertising, marketing information, and capability summaries directly related to the RFI.� Vendors deciding to submit competition-sensitive or proprietary information bear sole responsibility for marking the information for appropriate safeguarding. �Please include the following information in the response: Organization Name, address, and point of contact information DUNS & Cage Code Business size for NAICS Designate whether the company is a large or small business. �Should the company be designated as a small business, please also provide the appropriate category/categories, if applicable: 8(a) certified, service-disabled veteran-owned, veteran-owned, woman-owned, HUB Zone, Native American, or any other Small Business Administration approved designation.
