Description

The U.S. Army Contracting Command - Aberdeen Proving Ground - Natick Division on behalf of the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command - Solider Center (DEVCOM-SC), intends to award on a brand name, sole source basis under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)), Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements; a Firm Fixed Price contract is being sought with Agilent Technologies, Inc. for an Agilent BioTek Cytation 5 Cell Imaging Multimode Reader system. Agilent Technologies is the only vendor known to manufacture the automated cell imaging platform that is proprietary to the current Cytation 5 multimode plate reader. The current multimode plate reader has been used to characterize a highly physiologically-relevant ex vivo organoid cell model system currently being used in-house for multiple internal and external efforts. Having the appropriate equipment (Agilent BioTek Cyation 5 Cell Imaging Multimode Reader) is vital to conducting sensitive and critical experiments for mission-specific objectives. Further, as the platform is proprietary, no other imaging components from other manufacturers would be capable of communication between the reader and computer system. Natick Contracting Division anticipates awarding this contract to Agilent Technologies, Inc., 5301 Stevens Creek Blvd., Santa Clara, CA, 95051, United States. This is not a request for quotes. Any responses to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract is based solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334526.
