Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - New England District is issuing a Pre�Solicitation Notice for Tree Removal Services, Buffumville Lake, Charlton, MA. THE WORK CONSISTS OF:�Provide all labor, materials, equipment, and transportation necessary to remove trees, and grind the stumps within three different areas of Buffumville Lake property in accordance with the performance work statement. � � �Area 1. Seven trees are to be selectively cut behind the Buffumville Lake Office. All trees to be removed are white pines, marked with an �X� in red paint. Diameter at Breast Height (DBH) of trees are as follows: 14.75�, 14.5�, 27�, 30�, 28.75�, 34.5� (double-trunked) 24�. Average height of trees is estimated at 70�. Trees are within an average proximity of 35� to a storage building. Trees are healthy but are to be removed in preparation for future construction. � � �Area 2. Red pines and white pines are to be cut along the Buffumville Lake Disc Golf Course. All red and white pine trees are to be removed. 83 trees greater than 7� DBH are marked with an �X� in red paint. Non-pine species exist within the area and are to be left standing (including oak, cherry, and spruce). The area to be cleared measures approximately 1.15 acres. DBH of trees averages approximately 12� with the largest DBH being 20�. Average height of trees is estimated at 60�. Trees are offset from Old Oxford Rd. by approximately 75�. Trees are all dead or dying due to red pine scale. There are preexisting stumps and chips from past tree work within the stand that are to be removed. The area hosts autumn olive and glossy buckthorn, two invasive species that are to be removed. � � �Area 3. Five trees are to be selectively cut within the Buffumville Lake Park. All trees to be removed are marked with an �X� in red paint. DBH of trees are as follows: 40� pine (double-trunked); 29� pine; 12� pine; 25� oak; 32� hemlock. The 25� oak and 32� hemlock are located on a peninsula with access capable of handling vehicles up to 8.5� wide. Trees are unhealthy and to be removed for safety. This is not a request for quotes at this time. The solicitation requirements and contract documents, to include instructions for submission, and the response date will be available on or about September 20, 2023. Neither telephonic, mailed nor faxed requests for hard copies of this solicitation will be accepted. The solicitation will only be available online; in order to download the solicitation offerors must access the Contract Opportunities website (www.SAM.gov). This procurement is set-aside for small business vendors. The applicable NAICS code is 561730 with a Small Business Size Standard of $9.5 Million. ALL VENDORS MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE REGISTRATION IN SAM.GOV AT THE TIME OF SUBMISSION IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED. ANY VENDOR THAT DOES NOT HAVE AN ACTIVE SAM.GOV REGISTRATION WILL BE REJECTED AS NON RESPONSIVE.
