- No mechanicals shown for temporary kitchen trailer. Will any plumbing / HVAC be required? Please clarify in detail requirements. Freshwater will be required from water hose or pipe from the VAMC Syracuse Hospital building or grounds. Gray water drain can be connected to an existing Sewer Trench near the main loading dock area. The VA located and noted the nearest potable water and sanitary sewer connection locations and illustrated in this amendment plans revisions. The VA added notes to the revised plans on typical mobile kitchen trailer requirements. G102R1; please confirm: Phase 1 Kitchen will be fully operational. No temporary kitchen trailer? Correct. Phase 2 Indicates temporary kitchen to be used. Correct, temporary mobile kitchen trailer is to be used by the kitchen staff starting in Phase 2 for cooking only; trayline will still be operational for tray assembly within the main kitchen area. Backup electrical will be necessary to power all equipment needed in tray assembly area (induction chargers, 3 reach-in refrigerators, undercounter freezer, steam table, toaster, mobile heated cabinet, coffee machine, and plate warmer) well as dish room area (dish machine and pulper) Phase 3 Does not indicate on this drawing temporary kitchen to be used but does on other drawings. Please confirm Phase 3 temporary kitchen to be used and contractor has full access to kitchen area. During Phase 3, kitchen staff will still use the mobile kitchen trailer for cooking only. Temporary tray assembly area will be in the former retherm room, B261 (electrical will be necessary to power all equipment needed in tray assembly area (induction chargers, 3 reach-in refrigerators, undercounter freezer, steam table, toaster, mobile heated cabinet, coffee machine, and plate warmer). The dish room area will still be operational during this phase. The plans were revised to show sharing the freight elevators in phase 3 also, i.e. Contractor must utilize one freight elevator and Kitchen Staff will utilize one freight elevator in phase 3. Phases 4 & 5 No temporary kitchen? Correct, no temporary kitchen trailer for cooking in Phase 4 and Phase 5, i.e. Contractor must utilize one freight elevator and Kitchen Staff will utilize one freight elevator in Phase 4 & Phase 5. During Phase 4, kitchen staff will utilize mobile dishwashing trailer for dish room duties; cooking and tray assembly duties will return to the main kitchen area. Phase 1 has work within the kitchen area. There is significant work including demolition. If this work is to be completed during normal business hours, next to an operating kitchen, what are the Infection Control Requirements? Will there be noise restrictions? Please refer to Sheet G101G, G102R1 on the infection control requirements. There will be no noise restrictions imposed on the contractor from the Kitchen Staff. Noise restriction will not be imposed on the contractor by the 3rd floor or the 1st floor, as those areas are mainly roof and equipment, shafts on the 3rd floor and we will notify the pharmacy on the first floor that there will be noise due to minor demo and construction the 2nd floor. Please clarify the requirements related to the SSHO (013526-1.7): Is a separate, full-time SSHO required in addition to a full-time Site Superintendent for the Prime Contractor? No, as long as the Site Superintendent is qualified and meets the requirements of the SSHO. Please clarify proof/documentation to satisfy the requirement the SSHO to have (5) years of construction industry safety experience (013526-1.8A) ) Resume/CV: The SSHO can provide their resume or curriculum vitae that highlights their work experience in the construction industry, mentioning all relevant positions held, including any safety-related roles. Work Experience Letters: The SSHO can provide letters from previous employers, specifically those in the construction industry, verifying their employment, job titles, and duration of employment. These letters should also confirm their safety responsibilities or roles during their tenure. Certifications and Training: The SSHO can provide copies of relevant certifications and training courses they have completed, specifically pertaining to construction industry safety. This could include certifications such as OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety and Health, construction safety management courses, and other relevant training programs. Project Documentation: If the SSHO has worked on significant construction projects, they can provide project documentation, such as project reports, safety plans, incident reports, etc., to demonstrate their involvement in the construction industry and their safety responsibilities on those projects. References: The SSHO can provide professional references from individuals who can speak to their construction industry safety experience. These references can be from previous employers, colleagues, or clients who can verify their safety-related work and provide insight into their capabilities. Accomplishments or Awards: If the SSHO has received any recognition or awards related to construction industry safety, they can provide documentation of these achievements as proof of their experience. Please verify the requirement that the Competent Person(s) must have taken or retaken their OSHA 30 Hour within the past 5 years. We will accept a 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety certificate, regardless of the date completed. Please verify the requirement of a separate (LICENSED) Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or a Certified Construction Safety and Health Technician (CSHT) to conduct random monthly site safety inspections. Please verify this requirement cannot be fulfilled by a corporate safety professional (Safety/Operations Manager) and this person must be licensed and provide their certificate number. The word or clarifies this question . Meaning, as a minimum the SSHO must have completed the OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety class, regardless of the date completed, and have five (5) years of construction industry safety experience. Please confirm the quantity of parking spaces available to the prime contractor (per spec: A limited number of permits shall be issued for General Contractor and its employees for parking in designated areas only ) Refer to spec 01 00 00 section 1.5.F.1. Will the government agree to pay for Stored Materials on this project due to the volatile material price fluctuations and unpredictability of the market, with the provisions of material invoice/packing slips, photo, and insurance backup information for each relevant charge? No Will the government agree to material increase cost adjustment requests for suppliers (change orders) for products subject to long submittal review periods, long lead times and/or general post-bid issues? This is a firm-fixed price contract and there is no economic price adjustment clause in this contract.
