- Description
- 36C24623B0063 SBY VAMC Replace Pavement & Sidewalks - RFIs At the areas with pavers/stamped concrete sidewalks, are we to replace those with standard sidewalk or match back existing? If the latter, is stamped concrete OR pavers acceptable? These should be replaced with standard sidewalks. At the area shown below, there are wheel stops at the mill and pave area clouded. Are we to assume replacing with new wheel stops? Reuse existed stops The portion of the lot clouded below looks in bad shape, however, is not noted for replacement. In its current condition and with the heavy traffic loads, it probably will not hold up. Is there anything we need to provide here as an alternate? The hatch area at the end of the parking lot is to paved and striped. The solicitation states that the project duration is 240 calendar days, however the scope of work on cover sheet G-101 also states 210 calendar days. Please confirm the duration. 240 days is the duration. Please confirm, for bidding purposes, that the asphalt mill and overlay depth will be 2 minimum throughout. REMOVE EXISTING DAMAGED PAVEMENT SECTION AND REPLACE A MIN 18"" CLSM WITH MAX 2"" OF ASPHALT SURFACE COURSE. On sheet G-102, some of the colors shown on the legend are similar and it is difficult to discern exactly which condition should be applied to which area. Can you confirm the locations for the three items: Asphalt Road Works-Parking Lot, Subbase Repair with Flowable Fill, and Asphalt Parking Parking Striping? See 659-24-906_2-G-102_v2_082923 On sheet G-102, General Note A. states that we are to coordinate with COR on which sections of sidewalk to remove, however there are locations clearly identified on the scaled drawing. As well, there are two different legends being used for new sidewalk and sidewalk replacement. Can this drawing be updated to show a unified scope of work for new and replacement sidewalk? 659-24-906_2-G-102_v2_082923 Please confirm the locations where the Type 1 and Type 3 Utility Trench Patches are to be utilized. Type 1 Drawing U-102 shows all existing utility locations, as well as elevations for the Tunnel . Is it possible to get elevations on any of the other utilities shown? Utility elevation are below 18 as a standard. Given the relatively limited scope of this project, is it possible for the superintendent to also serve as SSHO and QCM? The Super may serve as one or the other, not both Is this a tax-exempt project? If tax-exempt, will the government be providing a tax-exempt certificate to the Prime Contractor for use by subcontractors and vendors? See FAR Clause 52.229-2, North Carolina State and Local Sales and Use Tax & 52.229-3, Federal, State, and Local Taxes Can the Superintendent be shared across multiple projects, or should they be dedicated full-time to this project and this project only? No. Can the Superintendent fulfil multiple roles? The Super can only be assigned one project. If so, can they also fulfil the Quality Control role? What about the SSHO role? The Super may fulfill one of the two roles, but not both. Will the VA provide a spot for the Prime Contractor to set up a temp office? Or should contractors include monies for a temp office, utilities, etc.? (We ask this because we know the VA has very little spare real estate). On a project this size, need for office is not required. However, a temp office location is permissible. Electric can be tapped, water and sewer is to be portable. Will staging and/ or parking be an issue for this project? Contractor will be allowed to park in employee park areas only of area of work. Does the VA anticipate this project will require off hours work? If so, what trades or scopes will be required to perform off hours work? This is answered on G-102 Where is the guardrail details on the sidewalk plans and please confirm the guardrail material? This is answered on A-101 Where are the utility details provided for new pavement and sidewalks? This is sheet U-102
