- SOURCES SOUGHT: THIS IS NOT A NOTICE OF REQUEST FOR QUOTATION BUT INFORMATION AND PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY! This notice does not constitute a commitment by the Government. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary and the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. The Purchase Request number is F4BWB03237A001 and shall be used to reference any written responses to this sources sought. United States Air Force Academy anticipates a requirement that is being considered under a small business set-aside program. The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code proposed is 334516. The size standard for NAICS is�1,000 Employees. The requirement is to provide:� 2x Generation III Extended Blue Image Intensifiers that will help perform basic research on dim electrical discharges and continue a decade of research using high speed, low light level cameras.� These image intensifiers will support Physics 499 and 490 classes as well as Meteo 499, and support cadet capstone and independent study courses. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The necessary salient characteristics are listed below: 2x Generation III Extended Blue Image Intensifiers with response between 350 nm � 900 nm. Lens side of the intensifier must accept c mount lenses. Camera side of the image intensifier must accept Nikon F mount (to account for compatibility with current high-speed cameras). Image Intensifiers must use standard US 110V, 60 cycle power. Image Intensifiers must have adjustable gain control. Image Intensifiers much have high voltage gating from 60 nsec to 1 msec and gating repetition of at least 300,000 per second.� Image Intensifiers must use P46 phosphor (or equivalent) with decay times of less than 1 microsecond.� Image intensifiers must have 18mm or larger active phosphor and micro-channel plate active section. Image intensifiers mush have a resolution of at least 57 line pairs per mm.�� Must be compatible for use with Phantom V2011 high speed cameras (which DFPM currently owns). Display all text in English. Include on-site (or virtual) training and device orientation. Include a 1-year manufacturer�s warranty. Include instruction booklet in both print and digital formats. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We are interested in any size business that can meet this requirement.� Market research is being conducted to determine interest, capability, and socio-economic category of potential sources for the requirement. The Government requests interested parties submit a brief description of their company's business size (i.e. annual revenues and employee size), business status (i.e., 8(a), Historically Underutilized Business Zone, service-disabled veteran-owned small business, HUBZone small business, woman-owned small business, veteran-owned small business, or small business) anticipated teaming arrangements, and a description of similar services offered to the Government and to commercial customers. All interested firms shall submit a capabilities package that explicitly demonstrates company capabilities-indicating examples of commercial sales-and product specifications related to this effort. Also indicate if you are the manufacturer, or provide the name and size of the manufacturer of the product(s) you will be supplying. Respondents are further requested to indicate their status as a Foreign-owned/foreign-controlled firm and any contemplated us of foreign national employees on this effort. Please note: All contractors doing business with the Federal Government must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database. The website for registration is www.sam.gov.
