Description
Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers intent to require, on a sole source basis, a brand name requirement for the CenTrak systems in the new Surgical and Clinical Tower Project at the VA West Haven Campus. The Real Time Locating Service (RTLS) tracks equipment in the hospital. The system includes RTLS tags, IR receivers, server, and cable infrastructure. CenTrak is the standard for all VA New England Facilities and is approved to meet the VAs cybersecurity requirements. The VA requires its equipment to be tracked and monitored across various medical campuses to ensure that resources can be shared while ensuring Government Property is not misplaced. Utilization of one RTLS system allows equipment to be monitored and tracked in one location as it moves between campuses. No other system can communicate with the existing CenTrak system, so this project must extend the existing Centrak system to maintain the VA requirements. The VA requires the RTLS system to integrate with the Inventory Management System so that the RTLs system can seamless track new items that have been added to the inventory. Centrak is the only RTLS vendor which integrates with the existing Inventory Management System, so this project must extend the existing Centrak system to maintain the VA requirements. To meet the VAs cybersecurity, tracking and inventory requirements, Centrak is the only system that can be installed for this project. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. It is a market research tool being used to determine the availability of other qualified sources that can meet the requirements identified above and inherent with the referenced CenTrak system. The Government is not obligated to, and will not pay for, any information received from potential sources as a result of this notice of intent. All responses received within 15 days of the posting of this notice of intent will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government to require the brand name for the CenTrak system for the VA West Haven procurement based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purposes of determine whether to allow alternate system manufacturers. Submit responses within 15 days of the posting of this notice of intent via email to: tyler.s.maryak@usace.army.mil (list ""W912WJ24X0008 Real Time Locating Service"" in the subject line of the email).
