Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Norfolk District would like to invite the Dredging Industry Contractors to participate in the Industry Day for the Waterway on the Coast of Virginia (WCV) Bradford Bay Channel and Finney Creek Maintenance Dredging project located on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. The U.S Army Corps of Engineers Norfolk District is seeking qualified and experienced firms capable of performing dredging of this project. The Industry Day will be held via webinar and conference line on 29 August 2023 from 9:30 AM EST until 11:00 A M EST. The presentation will begin promptly at 9:30 AM. The Norfolk District will provide a conference webinar link and conference call-in information to all interested participants who properly respond by the due date. This event is not a marketing opportunity and will not promote upcoming projects. The purpose and focus of the event will be to seek Industry input and questions regarding best practices for the technical execution of the project. The event will include a presentation by Norfolk District staff members giving current information regarding scope of work, safety, dredging restrictions and related topics. All interested attendees must pre-register by e-mail to the Contract Specialist, Kate Vance, at Katelyn.Vance@usace.army.mil and copy Stormie Wicks, the Civil Branch Contracting Officer, at Stormie.B.Wicks@usace.army.mil referencing the �WCV Bradford Bay Channel and Finney Creek Maintenance Dredging Project� not later than 1:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST), August 28, 2023. Email requests beyond the due date will not be accepted. Telephone requests will not be accepted. The registration email must include the name of all attendees, company name, day-time telephone number, email address, and your relation to the dredging industry as a reason for attendance. Registrants are encouraged to include suggested topics for discussion when registering. Copies of DRAFT technical documents and plans are uploaded for review purposes only. The Government will not be conducting one-on-one discussion related to any potential contract or on-going work under contract during this event. This announcement is not a contract solicitation, request for proposal, or a commitment to offer work of any kind on the part of the Government. The Army Corps of Engineers will not assume liability for costs incurred by an attendee or for travel expenses for marketing efforts. Contracting Office Address: US Army Engineer District, Norfolk, Attn: CECT-NAO, 803 Front Street, Norfolk, VA 23510 Point of Contact: Kate Vance, Contract Specialist at Katelyn.Vance@usace.army.mil Description of Work: The Norfolk District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, is seeking eligible firms capable of performing maintenance dredging by hydraulic cutter-head, in Bradford Bay Channel and Finney Creek on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. The channel is being maintained to a required depth of -6 feet MLLW.� No widening or other channel framework modifications are proposed at this time.� One foot of advance maintenance and one foot of allowable overdepth dredging will be considered as part of the contract dredging pay prism. Dredged material generated by the project is expected to be placed in the authorized 1000 ft by 1000 ft overboard placement site within Bradford Bay. Dredging is estimated to generate approximately 46,000 cubic yards of pay volume. The Contractor shall be responsible for the following: dredging within the designated areas to the proposed required and allowable pay depths and placing the material in the designated site. In accordance with FAR 36.204(f), the estimated construction price range for this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. NAICS Code 237990 applies. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this synopsis. Construction Time: The contract will be structured with one construction schedule. Dredging performance shall begin within 21 calendar days of receipt of Notice-to-Proceed (NTP). The construction period of performance will be approximately 150 calendar days from issuance of the NTP. The official synopsis citing the solicitation number will be issued on SAM.gov inviting firms to register electronically to receive a copy of the solicitation when it is issued.
