Includes: active commutator system compatible with nVista 3.0,nVoke 2.0 and nVue systems, and commutator cable. 1x Wire Perch 1x Cable Sheath Kit Optional item 7. 1x Qty; Part#1000-002897; Part Name: Inscopix Care (1-year subscription); Description: Includes: - Free repairs and/or replacements for ANY hardware damage, whether caused by user, animal, or unknown - Complimentary overnight shipping to and from Inscopix The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID)s Laboratory of Host Immunity and Microbiome (LHIM), Neuro-immune Crosstalk Unit (collectively Program) is engaged in research to understand how neuro-immune interactions contribute to the modulation of immune responses and body physiology. The current project is to decipher how the brain monitors and processes information related to immune responses evoked by different immune challenges at the circuit level. This requires functional imaging of real-time immune-evoked neural activities in selected brain areas with single-neuron resolution in awake mice while simultaneously manipulating the relevant circuit optogenetically. Thus, an integrated imaging and optogenetics system, specifically the nVoke system, is needed for Programs research. Very importantly, Program has used the nVista system with Inscopix Inc., to image neural activity. Members are familiar with the operation of Inscopix Inc., hardware and software, making it easier to transition into the nVoke system. Using the same platform from the same brand that uses the same software will streamline the integration of new data with the existing data obtained from the nVista system. Using a different brand with a different software will not only require additional time & costs for training but may also introduce new variables and result in incompatibilities due to different software. This may prevent Programs existing data from being used and compared, which may jeopardize Programs research. Delivery: NIH-NIAID, Bethesda, Maryland 20814 The statutory authority for this sole source requirement is 41 U.S.C.1901 (e) (2) as implemented by FAR 13.106-1 only one responsible source and no other supply of service will satisfy agency requirements. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. All responsible sources that could provide equipment may submit a capability statement that will be considered by email (subject line to reference NOI-NIAID-23-2182064) to Lu Chang lu-chang.lu@nih.gov by 4:00 PM eastern standard time, on August 31, 2023. All responses received by the closing date of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
