- Description
- The US Geological Survey (USGS) has a requirement for BasinMod software maintenance renewal that must be renewed each year for continued licensing updates, and technical support. That is required for BasinMod software to efficiently analyze well data for thermal maturity research by the Geology, Energy and Minerals Science Center (GEMSC) for energy resources assessments. This software has been used by GEMSC staff for over 20 years and is the only commercially available software that can be used to open and modify the proprietary file format ("".mod""). Presently, only Windows versions of this software are used; the software licenses required is BasinMod Support and Maintenance on existing BasinMod License key C95502-014A29-4BAABB-50B45F-6F9721-8D88E2. There is a base year with four option periods. Period of Performance 08/14/2023 - 08/13/2028 Pursuant to FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) Platte River Associates, Inc. is the only source reasonable available for this requirement because this type of data from Platte River Associates, Inc. maintains the proprietary rights to the BasinMod Software which includes sales, distribution, and maintenance to maintain license continuity for basin modeling. Also, BasinMod Software has a proprietary file format that is used (.mod). In accordance with FAR 5.207, all responsible sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency; however, THIS NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTATIONS. The Government intends to award this requirement noncompetitively in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). Responses must be emailed to Dayna Parkin at dparkin@usgs.gov. The NAICS code is 541511. The size standard is $34.0 million. The anticipated award date of the contract is 08/10/2023. The anticipated contract will be firm fixed-price. A vendor must be registered at https://sam.gov/content/home to be awarded the purchase order.
