Description: Request for Contract Changes (RCCs) 644N, 695N, and 846N were generated to accomplish New Work on board the USS ESSEX (LHD-2). The USS ESSEX is currently in BAE shipyard for CNO dry-docking overhaul and already has a presence on the ship with work ongoing in the affected ballast tank that is needing valve removal, overhaul and re-installation. Having another contractor or soliciting this work would delay the schedule and affect milestones putting Availability completion due date at risk which in-turn, affects multiple other Naval ship schedules in the fleet.
