- TITLE: Norton Dam Wire Rope Replacement SOLICITATION NUMBER: 140R6023R0017 THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. PURPOSE: The Bureau of Reclamation�s Missouri Basin Regional Office intends to issue a solicitation for a construction requirement to Replace the Radial Gate Ropes at the Bureau of Reclamation�s Norton Dam facility near Norton, Kansas. In accordance with FAR 36.204, the estimated magnitude of this proposed construction project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Work performed under these specifications includes the following: 1. Remove and replace wire ropes. 2. Remove grease lines. 3. Fully recoat and rehabilitate sheave assemblies and idler arm assemblies. 4. Fully recoat floatwell covers, weirwell covers, and raised platforms. 5. Spot repair coatings on hoisting equipment. This is not a comprehensive list of contract requirements. The solicitation will include Specifications that will include all the required tasks. PROJECT LOCATION: The Norton Dam spillway is located approximately 4.9 miles southwest of the town of Norton, along Norton County Rd W3 off of Lower Dam Road. PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: The resulting contract will be for an approximately 14-month period of performance. The Government anticipates an award on or around October 16, 2023. NAICS AND SIZE STANDARD: NAICS Code for this project is 237990 � Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction with a business size standard of $45 million. COMPETITION: Solicitation 140R6023R0017 is anticipated to be a total set-aside for small businesses. SOLICITATION RELEASE DATE: The Bureau of Reclamation anticipates solicitation 140R6023R0017 for this requirement will be issued as a Request for Proposal to the System for Award Management (SAM) website on or around August 14, 2023. Proposals will be due approximately 30 calendar days after the solicitation is issued. SYSTEM FOR AWARD MANAGEMENT (SAM, www.sam.gov): Any vendor interested in doing business with the Federal Government must be registered in the SAM database prior to award of a contract or agreement. It is not to be construed as a commitment by the requesting party to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract. Responses will not be considered as proposals, bids, or quotes. No award will be made as a result of this Notice. The Government will NOT be responsible for any costs incurred by interested parties in responding to this Notice. This Notice is strictly for compliance with FAR Subpart 5.2. As a result of this Notice, the Government may issue a competitive solicitation; however, should such requirements materialize, no basis for claims against the Government shall arise as a result of a response to the Notice (e.g. use of such information as either part of its evaluation process or in developing specifications for any subsequent requirement).
