- CONTINUATION PAGE OF 1449 SOLICITATION On-Site Lithotripsy Service to include Mobile Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL) Equipment and Technical Representative Support Service Product and Services Required: The Department of Veteran Affairs, Charles George Asheville VA Medical Center is requesting On-Site Lithotripsy Service to include Mobile Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL) equipment and Technical Representative Support Service from October 01, 2023, through September 30, 2024. SPECIFIC EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS & RELATED KEY CHARACTERISTICS: Charles George Asheville VA Medical Center currently requires the following: On-Site Lithotripsy Service to include Mobile Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL) equipment and Technical Representative Support, two (2) Friday mornings per month. The specific Friday will depend on patient demand and by agreement of the parties. The contractor shall provide Technical Representative staff certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) (https://www.arrt.org) and trained in the operation of the Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL) Equipment and devices to provide the requested service to the Charles George Asheville VA Health Care System , Asheville, NC. The Technician shall assist the attending Urologist and other Physicians in the operation of the device. The Technician is required to operate the device. EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION: VA REQUIRES AS A MINIMUM Transportable STORZ Modulith brand or equivalent system. Mobile Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL) Equipment EQUIPMENT FUNCTION: Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL) is a procedure to break up stones inside the urinary tract, bile ducts or pancreatic duct with a series of shock waves generated by a machine called a Lithotripter. EQUIPMENT PERFORMANCE REQUIRED: The fully mobile version of this Lithotripter has a built-in undercarriage to allow frequent and easy of transporting between different treatment locations. When used in combination with the Mobile C-Arcs, the mobile variant is a fully functional workstation for Lithotripsy application and Endourological procedures.
