Description
This notice is being published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 5.101(a)(2) requiring the dissemination of information on proposed contract actions. This is a notice of intent to award a sole-source contract pursuant to 10 U.S.C 2304 (C)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1(a)(2) and 6.301-1(c), only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, and brand-name descriptions. The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center located at 940 Belmont Street Brockton, MA 02301 has a requirement for of 2 Bari-Rehab Platform Beds 3-80 . The Government intends to award a firm-fixed-price sole source contract. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. this notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. This is a written notice to inform the public of the Governments intent to award on a sole source basis. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition will be advantageous to the Government. This notice will close on July 31, 2023, at 4:30 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST) Statement of Work Title: Bariatric Beds for Community Living Center (CLC) Nursing Service, VA Boston Healthcare System. General Overview: VA Boston Healthcare System, Nursing Service, desires to purchase 2 Bariatric Beds to be used in the Community Living Center at the Brockton campus. Definitions or Acronyms: VABHS VA Boston Healthcare System VATR VA Technical Representative Place of Performance: Nursing Service, Community Living Center, Brockton campus of VABHS. Period of Performance and Schedule: This will be a single award Firm Fixed Priced Contract for the overall purchase of 2 Bari-Rehab Platform Beds 3-80 . Scope of Work: Background: Bari Rehab Platform 3 is designed to address the needs of the bariatric patient and their caregiver. The expandable width and length options accommodate patients of all sizes, providing both safety and comfort. These are the beds currently rented by the Community Living Center. Renting a hospital bed for longer than a few months is more expensive than buying. Bariatric beds are increasingly required by Veterans and are required for long periods of time. Scope: Bari Rehab Platform 3 bed is designed to support patients up to 1,000 pounds and to accommodate a variety of patient widths and heights. Bari Rehab Platform 3 features an Expandable Deck that allows the bed to easily transition from 39 to 48 widths, 80 length. This provides space for proper clinical care and patient movement while ensuring easy transportation through facility doorways. Bari Rehab Platform 3 is a multi-use platform designed to help reduce length of stay by accelerating patients recovery. The 15.35 deck low and 30 deck high promote patient mobilization and allow caregivers to address patients needs at a safe, comfortable level. Bari Rehab Platform 3 is easy to place in Cardiac Chair Position with adjustable back, seat and leg angles that can help achieve the most clinically effective position for the Veteran patient. Siderails are removable 2 position fold down, 2 standard. Standard 5 caster and braking system.
