Description
Solicitation Number: NRMAG0002301125SML Notice Type: Sources Sought Synopsis Title: Monochrome CMOS Cameras and Accessories Response Date: July 26, 2023 This is a SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS and is not a pre-solicitation announcement. The purpose of this Market Research and Sources Sought Notice is to gain knowledge of potential qualified U.S. Domestic businesses, which could include Small Business, HUBZone, 8(a), Service Disabled Veteran Owned, Women Owned Small Business firms and even Large Businesses. Responses to this Sources Sought Synopsis will be used by the Government in making appropriate acquisition decisions. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Oceanic and Atmospheric Research (OAR), National Severe Storms Laboratorys (NSSL) mission of enhancing capabilities to provide accurate and timely forecasts and warnings of hazardous weather events requires enhanced computing capabilities. This is particularly relevant for fieldwork that leverages high-speed camera technology for the imaging of multiple weather hazards, specifically precipitation in the form of rain, hail, snow, and graupel. There is currently a need to expand NSSLs high?speed imaging of weather hazards capabilities to collect observations of precipitation at the surface in free?fall, which would significantly improve the understanding of various microphysical processes and the hazards they generate. These observations would significantly improve the quality of precipitation type retrievals and now?casting ability for active weather events using NEXRAD systems. The current monochrome CMOS cameras are manufactured by Ximea Corp., and the NSSL is in need of replacements that are compatible in all aspects (form, fit, and function). INTENDED USE/PURPOSE: The Ximea Corp. CB120MG-CM-X8G3 Monochrome CMOS camera is a 4K, compact, high speed camera designed to fully capture high velocity objects like hail in complete free?fall without distortion and allow for various measurements to be taken. The cameras are capable of high frames rates (greater than 300 fps), have a high resolution, and allow for very short exposure times in order to properly capture the free?falling objects. A camera like the Ximea Corp. CB120MG-CM-X8G3 Monochrome CMOS camera is required to meet the technical specifications and provide the level of accuracy needed for the NSSLs tolerances. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/ESSENTIAL SALIENT FEATURES: 12 Mpix Monochrome CMOS camera with AMS CMOSIS CMV12000 PCIe Gen3 speed of 64 Gbit/s allows more than 330 Fps at 8bit Specifications: Part Number CB120MG-CM-X8G3 Resolution 12 MP 4096 x 3072 pixel Frame rates 330 Fps (8 bit) Sensor model AMS CMOSIS CMV12000 Sensor type CMOS B/W monochrome Sensor size 28 mm Sensor active area 22.5 x 16.9 mm Readout method Global shutter Pixel size 5.5 ?m Digitization 8, 10, 12 Data interface PCI Express (PCIe) Gen3 Dynamic range 60 dB Full Well Capacity 13 500 e- On-chip binning 2x2 (and Skipping) Signal to noise ratio 41,3 dB Exposure range 19?s - 3.5s I/O Ports 2IN/2OUT Power consumption 17 Watt Lens mount Optional accessory: Active EF-mount Weight 280g Dimensions WxHxD 70 x 60 x 57 mm Cooling Fan DELIVERY SCHEDULE: Deliver by 12 weeks after date of award. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) is 333310 with a size standard of 1,000 employees. Interested firms shall provide, in writing, a brief narrative (no more than 3 pages in length) and documentation to support your firms capability and experience meeting the requirements herein and include your firms name, address, point of contact, telephone number, UEID Number, CCR CAGE Number, business type and size (i.e., small, large, non-profit, educational, etc.). Any response that does not include this information will not be considered. The Government will review your response to determine if your firm has the experience, knowledge and capability to provide the items as specified above. This request for information does not constitute a commitment, implied or otherwise, that a procurement action will be issued. Nor does this request for information constitute a commitment, implied or otherwise, that any procurement action may be issued for the Governments requirements. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise because of the submission of contractors information. The Government shall not be liable for or suffer any consequential damages for proprietary information not properly identified. Proprietary information will be safeguarded in accordance with the applicable Government regulations. All contractors doing business with the Government are required to be registered and active with the System for Award Management (SAM) website.
