Description
Sources Sought Notice MINIATURE SNAPSHOT HYPERSPECTRAL CAMERAs Sources Sought #1104260-SS This is a Sources Sought notice Only. This is NOT a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. This Sources Sought is issued for information and planning purposes only as part of USDA ARS market research and does not itself constitute an RFQ. Background: Specifications Title: MINIATURE SNAPSHOT HYPERSPECTRAL CAMERAs Background: The ARS Environmental Microbial and Food Safety Laboratory (EMFSL) in Beltsville, Maryland plans to purchase two miniature snapshot hyperspectral cameras (BaySpec GoldenEye VIS-NIR, brand name or equal) and its software development kit (SDK, brand name or equal) to develop new compact hyperspectral imaging systems without need of traditional spatial scanning. Since new cameras will be used in confined space on small sensing platforms (e.g., small plant growth chamber and drone or cart in produce field), the camera without the lens must be small and weigh less than 0.2 kg. Also, since linear moving stages cannot be used in the new small imaging systems, the camera must be able to capture a complete hyperspectral cube data with continuous spectral information for each spatial pixel using one exposure. Technical requirements: Miniature snapshot hyperspectral cameras must be capable of the following: Operation mode: snapshot VNIR wavelength range: 400-1000 nm Spectral bands >= 100 Spatial resolution >= 640480 High spectral resolution FWHM = 12 bits High frame rate >= 1 hyperspectral cube/sec Small size <= 6.0 cm 3.3 cm 4.3 cm (without lens) Light weight < 0.20 kg (without lens) Temperature range: 10-50 ? Interface with Python and LabVIEW software USB port: 1 USB 3.0 Power supply: powered by 5V DC power line of USB 3.0 Place of performance: 10300 Baltimore Ave., Bldg. 173, Rm. 102A Beltsville, MD 20705 The Contractor Shall: This Sources Sought is only for the purpose of identifying potential sources as part of USDA ARS market research.
