- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) at Patuxent River, MD intends to negotiate and award a Delivery Order under Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) N0001921G0006 on a sole source basis to The Boeing Company (Boeing) for field service support on the F/A-18 C/D Aircraft utilized by Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron (MALS) 11 at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Miramar and MALS 31 at MCAS Beaufort.� Boeing will provide approximately 3 Field Service Representatives (FSR) to MCAS Miramar and approximately 3 FSRs to MCAS Beaufort.� The FSRs will provide Organizational and Intermediate (O/I) F/A-18C/D engineering and technical support to include operation and maintenance of the Servo-cylinder Test Station (STS) Bench and Airplane General (APG) Airframes.� The FSRs will also act as a liaison between the MALS and Boeing on issues such as parts research and supply chain problems. �The period of performance is anticipated to begin on 1 January 2024 and conclude on 31 December 2024. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of 10 U.S.C.� 2304(c)(l), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, only one responsible� source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Boeing is the sole designer, developer, manufacturer, and supplier of F/A-18 C/D Aircraft.� Only Boeing possesses the technical data, unique and specialized engineering capability, resources, subject matter expertise, and tooling necessary to provide the field service support described above. As such, NAVAIR has determined Boeing is the only responsible source capable of meeting the Government's minimum needs. This synopsis is published for informational purposes only and is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Per FAR 10.002(d)(2), the Government does NOT intend to use the provisions of FAR Part 12 for this acquisition.
