- SUBJECT: Market research is being conducted to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements for qualification and production of the Amplifier Control Unit, NSN 5895-01-524-2752CX, PN 93-A152-16B.� ITEM DESCRIPTION: The Amplifier Control Unit is part of the Solid State Cockpit Voice Recorder (SSCVR) System used on the C-5 and C-17 aircraft. This item provides preamplification of microphone input and utilizes either its own built-in microphone or external area microphone to record conversation. The control unit contains the control area microphone, headset jack microphone preamplifier board assemble, and test switch to enable test monitoring of the tape remotely. IMPEDIMENT TO COMPETITION: The approved source manufacturer for this item is L3 Aviation Products (CAGE 06141). The Government does not own any data, drawings, schematics, or any other releasable technical data in support of this requirement. As a result, L3 is the only known source with adequate knowledge of the Amplifier Control Unit performance requirements and possession of the required technical data and capabilities needed to produce this item and ensure compatibility of the equipment.� INTEREST: The DLA/AWB Contracting Office intends to award a sole source contract to L3 for the manufacture of the Amplifier Control Unit used on the C-5M and C-17A aircraft.� Other interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than 21 July 2023 by emailing Vanessa Moes, vanessa.moes.1@us.af.mil and Jimmy Hicks, jimmy.hicks@us.af.mil �The Government intends to procure these items using Other Than Full and Open Competition as prescribed by FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements.
