Description

THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) Office of Acquisition on behalf of its Office of Production Engineering intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price commercial contract for preventive maintenance and calibration services for their twenty-one (21) Q-Magnetic Sensors modules. The intended contractor is Cummins-Allison Corporation, 852 Feehanville Drive, Mount Prospect, IL 60056. The Government intends to award a sole source contract utilizing a Justification for Soliciting from a Single Source IAW FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b). Anticipated Period of Performance: one twelve (12) month base and two twelve (12) month option years. The Q-Magnetic sensor modules are used for inspecting magnetic properties in printed US currency. �The preventive maintenance ensures that the instrument is functioning properly so necessary inspections can be performed. Therefore, it is imperative that annual preventive maintenance and calibration of the Q-Mag sensor modules are performed to ensure that the equipment is functioning properly so they can provide accurate and consistent results.� The Q-Magnetic sensor modules are designed and fabricated by Cummins-Allison Corporation. �They are the only source known to have the knowledge to service and support these proprietary modules. There are no known authorized 3rd party service providers for this equipment.
