- STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW) Maritime Center of Excellence: Lab Fume Hood UNITED STATES COAST GUARD ACADEMY School of Science, Mathematics, and the Humanities A.�� BACKGROUND The US Coast Guard Academy (CGA) in New London, CT has a newly constructed building to provide cadets with a modern and motivational facility that will bring their academic education to the waterfront and onto the water. � �TASKS Visit the site prior to bid preparation to verify all measurements and installation needs for the bench fume hood. See Exhibits A through D for building layout, room layout, and equipment elevations. These are provided for reference only. Vendor may deviate from exhibits to fit. Provide product by one of these manufacturers/fabricators: Kewaunee Scientific Corporation, Air Master Systems Corporation, Bedcolab, Jamestown Metal Products, or Mott Manufacturing Limited. If awarded the bid, furnish and install the fume hood in the Science Lab, North Wall in Room 105. DESIGN REQUIREMENTS See attached fume hood specifications for exact details. The basis of design (product standard) is Kewaunee � V05F283072K-G1,F1,S,W,V. A summary of design requirements is listed below. Comply with SEFA 1 �Laboratory Fume Hoods� Provide fume hood with Factory UL 1805 Classified labeling. Fume hood shall function as ventilated, enclosed work space, designed to capture and confine exhaust fumes, vapors, and particulate matter produced or generated within the enclosure. Provide a high performance fume hood. The �maximum sash opening� shall be considered a vertical sash opening not less than 25 inches high off the fume hood work surface. Design fume hood for consistent and safe air flow through the hood face. See specifications for average illumination of work area and maximum average static pressure loss. Vapor proof lights. Fume hood shall be constructed in such a manner as to cause no perceptible increase in sound pressure level over the mechanical exhaust system. Fume hood to have set baffle system. No manually adjustable baffles allowed. Epoxy resin bench top. Include one (1) 36� Solvent and one (1) 36� Acid fume hood base cabinet. REQUIREMENTS � EVALUATION / AWARD CRITERIA This is a Firm Fixed-Price Contract using Best Value, Familiarity, and Past Experience furnishing and installing these type of items. SUBMITTALS The following shall be submitted to CGA prior to the start of installation: Final installation schedule to include day/time for inspection and approval of completed work with client. Work should be scheduled within normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This can be adjusted but must be approved by USCG Academy. System for Award Management (SAM) Required to submit a bid package: The selected consultant must have a (SAM) registration. A registration is free of charge and allows you to bid on government contracts and apply for federal assistance. As part of the registration, you will be assigned a Unique Entity ID that uniquely identifies the business in order for payment(s) to be made by the U.S. Coast Guard Finance Center (acquiring may take up to 30 days).
