Description
. This project includes cleaning out and repairing a storm drain system on the east side of the Ketchikan Misty Fjords Ranger District bunkhouse: Clean out all sediment and debris in the 2 existing catchment basins on the east side of the bunkhouse, the storm drainpipe connecting them together (80ft length), and any inlets to the catchment basins from downspouts. Disconnect the old, clogged storm drainpipe and install a new storm drainpipe that discharges into Bar Harbor. If necessary, replace the catchment box of the same size if a watertight connection is not possible with the existing box or if the watertight catchment box is compromised during construction. The work to install the new storm drainpipe includes excavating a trench from the existing bunkhouse catchment basin to the discharge location in Bar Harbor well above the higher high tide elevation, placement of an 8 diameter corrugated plastic pipe on granular bedding at a grade of 2-4%, backfilling, and site restoration including reinstalling the catchment basin grate. Excavated material will be used for backfilling. Any damage to the asphalt-cement waterfront walkway will be repaired according to City of Ketchikan specifications, included in the standard drawings provided. The above description is provided as an outline of major work items and shall not be construed as an inclusive or complete listing of all items of work under this contract. The intent of this contract is to provide for the complete construction of the project described in the contract. Unless otherwise provided, the Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and supplies, and perform all work required to complete the project in accordance with drawings, specifications, and provisions of the contract. The City Ketchikans standard requirements for watertight structure connections, trench backfilling, and asphalt surfacing will be followed. Excess soil and all debris will be disposed of appropriately off site. All appurtenances, fasteners, hardware, and connections to make a complete and useable system are considered incidental to the work items.
