- Description
- CHERRYWOOD HERBICIDE APPLICATION Total Small Business Set Aside F003 NAICS 115310 - Support Activities for Forestry This is a pre-solicitation notice only. This is not a Request for Proposals (RFP) and does not commit the Government to award any contracts now or in the future. There will be no site visit. This project consists of aerial spraying for weeds and vegetation suppression in areas of the project that are inaccessible to terrestrial vehicles. Offerors: Please be advised of on-line registration requirement for Representations and Certifications Application is located in System for Award Management (SAM) database https://www.sam.gov/portaljpublic/SAM/. Representations and certifications are required to be updated annually as a minimum to keep information current, accurate and complete. The electronic annual representations and certifications are effective until one year from date of submission or update to SAM. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is acquiring contractor services to provide vegetation treatment services for the area of the Cherrywood Fire that naturally ignited on the 17th of May 2021 and spread to BLM lands located within the Nevada Test and Training Range. The work consists of applying a pre-emergent herbicide to a minimum of 5,000 acres within the burned area to control red brome (Bromus Rubens) and cheatgrass (Bromus tectorum) two nonnative invasive annual grass species. The project area is located approximately 20 miles northeast of Beatty, Nevada, sub-range 77 of the Nevada Test and Training Range, and west aspect of the Timber Mountain Caldera Area of Critical Environmental. The project area is depicted on the Location and Vicinity Maps. Ground-based application will not be permitted due to the size of the treatment area, the potential to cause additional ground disturbance, the likelihood of spreading invasive weeds, the potential for an accidental detonation of unexploded ordnance, impact to ongoing military training exercises, and impacts to cultural resources as well as impacts to designated critical desert tortoise habitat (Gopherus Agassizii) that are susceptible to damage by overland travel. The BLM will issue a Total Small Business Set-Aside competitive commercial solicitation on or about July 7, 2023. The BLM anticipates issuing a single firm fixed price award from this solicitation. The Solicitation will include contract documents with details of the project when it is released.
