- Description
- A. To notify potential Offerors of the Governments intent to solicit a brand name(s) only component for this project. B. To identify potential sources that can provide an equivalent to the brand name only item. C. Notification of the Armys intent to solicit brand name components as described below. (1) Monaco Fire Alarm Transceiver Assembly (estimated cost = $15,000): Currently, all buildings at Ft. Drum requiring fire alarm are provided with the Monaco Fire Alarm Transceiver Assembly. The IDT Shielded Auxiliary Power Generator Enclosure contains fire detection alarms that must be transmitted via proprietary Ultra High Frequency (UHF) radio signal to the existing Monaco D-21 Enhanced Central Radio Control Alarm receiving system, at JB MDL Department Dispatch. The Monaco D-21 Enhanced Central Radio Control Alarm receiving system is used to receive fire alarms from all facilities at Ft. Drum. Attempting to integrate parts outside the current network poses unacceptable risks, because due to compatibility issues with other manufacturers equipment, it will not be possible to guarantee delivery of alarms to Ft. Drum Alarm Receiving Station, if any other transceiver is installed. If the Monaco transceiver is not installed in this facility, the fire station will be unable to receive an alarm or trouble signal due to the activation of a detector or pull station. This would delay the response time of the fire department, which could result in extensive damage to the facility and/or personnel.
