- NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE Marine Corps Field Contracting System, Marine Corps Installations East, Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, NC hereby gives notice of intent to award a sole source contract to Mackay Communications, Inc, 3691 Trust Drive, Raleigh, NC 27616-2955, in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.501(a) only one source reasonably available under Unusual and Compelling Urgency. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES.� A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.� As mandated by Code of Federal Regulations 33 CFR 334.440, CG, MCIEAST is responsible for monitoring the Atlantic Intracoastal Water Way (AIWW) and the Atlantic seaward beaches prior to and during live fire combat training exercises. Within 10 days, the Government has an urgent requirement to replace the current Surface Search Radar System that has stopped working and is unserviceable.� The Surface Search Radar System was used to monitor seaward coastal operations to support training operations involving Electronic Warfare Training, Expeditionary Operations with Navy Warships, Vessels, Landing Craft, Stinger Missiles, UAS, and Marine Corps Special Operations units.� The system monitored more than 12 miles of waterways associated with the Camp Lejeune, NC Coastline, and surrounding areas.� Mackay Communications, Inc can provide the required Furuno Radar, Model # FAR3220NXTBB, and integrate with numerous existing Government hardwares and softwares to ensure that new Surface Search Radar System is operable.
