Statement of Work 1. Objective/ Requirements This procurement is for Unity Pro Annual Subscription for use at Johnson Space Center. The required specifics are listed below: 2. Characteristics, Scope, and Specs QTY PART # DESCRIPTION 15 UPAS-1Y Unity Pro Annual Subscription 3. Period of Performance One Year 4. Place of Performance Johnson Space Center BNJ NATIONAL AERONAUTICS AND SPACE ADMINISTRATION NASA SHARED SERVICES CENTER RECOMMENDATION AND DETERMINATION TO SOLICIT FROM ONE SOURCE OR BRAND NAME PICK ONE Sole Source: ?I recommend that NASA, NASA Shared Services Center negotiate with Vendor Name only for . The total estimated cost of this effort is Enter Dollar amount and the estimated period of performance or lead-time for delivery is Date. OR Brand Name Justification: ?I recommend that NASA, NASA Shared Services Center negotiate with only with vendors who can provide the subject brand name from Unity Technologies for Unity Pro Annual Subscription. The total estimated cost of this effort is $ and the estimated period of performance or lead-time for delivery is one year . This recommendation is for the acquisition of supplies or services determined to be reasonably available from only one source/only one manufacture. Competition is impractical for the following reasons (please answer the questions below): 1. What are the reasons for soliciting only the suggested source/suggested brand name? Please provide the unique characteristics of the items or services along with the supporting rationale and the market research performed to substantiate your reason for the suggested source/brand name. Unity is the only game engine/animation/VR technology that provides the multi-platform (IOS, Android, Windows, and Web-based) support with additional Animation, Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality capabilities. We have researched other technologies like Blender and Unreal, but they fall short on providing support for all of these platforms and capabilities. Engineering personnel are already trained using Unity and there would be a significant learning curve and schedule impacts to learn another tool. 2. What is the impact to the government if another vendor/brand is used? Include any dollar, schedule, or compatibility impacts if possible. VR training applications required to support Lunar Surface EVA VR training for Artemis III would not be delivered on time and crew would be at risk of being trained properly for South Pole Lunar conditions. To learn and use another tool would be a significant hit on cost and schedule.
