Description

STATEMENT OF WORK 1. Objective/Requirements Renew NASA�s Membership for 2023-24 as an Industry Advisory Board (IAB) member at the Iowa State University (ISU) Center for Nondestructive Evaluation (CNDE). 2. Scope and Membership Benefits � CNDE is the only NDE center in the country with Internationally-recognized faculty and research staff involved in fundamental science o Expertise in numerous NDE modalities o Quick response to members� needs o Access to other scientists at ISU o Beta test site for advanced simulation codes/tools � Membership pooled funds for pre-competitive fundamental & advanced research � Notable areas of NDE research: o Materials characterization models & tools o Damage characterization o Computational NDE - prediction models for remaining (safe) service-life o Additive manufacturing & NDE o Advancing technology readiness level (TRL) � Members provide crucial input guiding CNDE activities & objectives � Members have access to o Unique CNDE-developed NDE software o Unique modalities � microwaves, millimeter waves & Terahertz o Direct access to NDE-educated students o NDE-focused students for internships & Co-Ops o Exclusive educational programs for members ? Post-IAB Seminars, Short Courses, etc. o AM-NDE national testbed facility initiative with direct benefit to members o State-of-the-art research facilities ? Beyond the bench top: scale of instruments mirrors industrial needs 3. Place of Performance (Membership) Center for Nondestructive Evaluation (CNDE) at the Iowa State University (ISU) 4.
