- SOURCES SOUGHT: The VA Providence Healthcare System (VAPHS), 830 Chalkstone Avenue, Providence, RI 02908, has a requirement for a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Contract, for Architect/Engineer (A/E) Professional Engineering Services. GENERAL SCOPE OF WORK: Architect/Engineer (A/E) Professional Engineering Services are needed to perform investigative services, design, complete upgrades, and modernization to the existing Building 1 and Building 35 elevators and equipment rooms. Upgrades are required to eliminate serious code deficiencies relating to fire protection, electrical service, and elevator controls. The elevator upgrades and modernization are for the nine (9) elevators numbered P2, P3, P4, P7, P8, Sl, S5, and S6 (5 passenger and 3 service) located in the main hospital Building 1 and one (1) elevator numbered P11 located in Building 35 (1 passenger). Refer to the attached plan for elevator locations within Building 1 and Building 5. Prior to the full upgrade of the elevators an inspection study report and modernization survey shall be performed by an elevator design professional. The Vertical Transportation Specialist (elevator design professional) shall be involved during the entire project to evaluate the specifications, determine specification compliance, and consult on installation issues. The Vertical Transportation Specialist must also have experience with programming, coding, and designing of vertical elevators for Acute Care Hospitals and Medical Centers. Refer to the attached Scope of Work for details of full requirement. DISCLAIMER: This Notice is issued solely for market research and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this notice. Do not submit any pricing information in response to this Notice NAICS: The NAICS code for this Project is 541330 (Engineering Services), Small Business size standard is $25.5 million. MAGNITUDE OF CONSTRUCTION: is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. PROJECT SCOPE OF WORK: The Scope of Work and drawings are attached to this Sources Sought Notice. RESPONSE INFORMATION: The information below is requested from Firms who are interested in responding to this Sources Sought Notice. Please DO NOT submit any Cost or Pricing information with your Firm s Statement of Interest response. STATEMENT OF INTEREST: Interested and qualified SDVOSB, VOSB, and/or SB Firms must indicate their interest by submitting a written Statement of Interest. Submit a statement of interest that your Firm intends to submit a proposal in response to a solicitation for this project; and include your Firm s SAM UEI and Firm s DUNS Number. The statement of interest must provide clear and specific information that describes your Firm s experience in A/E Professional Services to perform investigative services, design, complete upgrades, and modernization to elevators and equipment rooms as described in the attached Scope of Work (refer to SOW for full scope of work). Statement of interest can be up to five (5) pages. The statement of interest must also include Firm s intent to hire a Vertical Transportation Specialist (elevator design professional), this professional shall be involved during the entire project to evaluate the specifications, determine specification compliance, and consult on installation issues. The Vertical Transportation Specialist must also have experience with programming, coding, and designing of vertical elevators for Acute Care Hospitals and Medical Centers. Statement of interest should also provide a description of up to five (5) contracts and/or Task Orders similar in size, scope, and complexity as requirements described in the attached Scope of Work; also provide the total dollar amounts for each of those contracts or Task Orders (no photographs or drawings are needed at this time). Provide Firm s intent and ability to perform 50% of the requirement in accordance with FAR 52.219-14 - Limitations on Subcontracting Clause.
