- Description
- The Light Imaging Facility (LIF), and the Synaptic Transmission Section (STS), at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), need to employ cutting-edge techniques to resolve the movements of proteins and membranes at the nanometer-range. These experiments require the use of ""Super-Resolution Microscopy"" techniques, which have high temporal and spatial resolution capabilities. One example of such a technique is Tau-Stimulated Emission Depletion (Tau-STED) microscopy, which utilizes resonance scanning speeds to obtain the necessary level of precision. However, two similar old systems were damaged in the flooding in 2022. As a result, NINDS require two new imaging systems (STELLARIS 8 Tau-STED or equal) to restart the studies. Please see the attached Sources Sought notice for more details.
