- Description
- The contractor shall provide Engineering services responsible for manufacturing process technology, prototype manufacture, and design for producibility. The functions involve performing engineering analysis to enhance manufacturing , executing developmental activities including testing and evaluation, data reduction and analysis, computer modeling, design for producibility, , design development, �GD&T, planning engineering experiments, writing procedures and test plans, executing engineering experiments, collecting and analyzing data, monitoring manufacturing activities, and authoring or reviewing engineering change proposals,� . Tasks may also involve working �with senior engineers on one or more research and engineering projects including preliminary prototype design and manufacturing process development, fabrication of prototype hardware, acquisition of advanced manufacturing process hardware, performing cost estimates. Reviews designs and technical data packages for conformance to standards of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing as well as military/commercial specifications. Reviews designs and technical data packages for producibility, identifying areas where improvements in cost, schedule, quality, or new processes can be made. Makes recommendations to customers as to best manufacturing process. Uses Pro Engineer and Pro NC to establish the design and then develop, off line, the machine tool programs for the required machining processes. Develops manufacturing plans in a logical and cost-effective sequence, taking into account available manufacturing processes, required fixtures, intermediate process design configurations, and final part inspection. The contractor shall provide Engineers with a minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an accredited University.� The engineers are required to be capable of possessing and holding a Secret Security Clearance.� The individuals are expected to travel on a semi-regularly basis � but not more than 16 weeks per year.� The contractor Engineers will be permitted to telework for up to one day per week.� Tasks will be assigned by the Government supervisor, and timeframes for completing the tasks will be agreed to by the individual engineers executing the efforts.�� The Government will provide computers and will provide office accommodations.
