Description
The Contractor shall deliver one (1) fast tunable o-band laser source for integrated photonics testing that meets the following specifications. The laser source shall be capable of supplying continuous wave (CW) polarized laser light to a standard polarization maintaining optical fiber via an FC/APC connector across a wavelength span of 1240 nanometers (nm) to 1380 nm with a polarization extinction ratio of at least 15 decibels (dB). The optical power shall be mode-hop free and have a flatness of better than plus or minus zero point two ((�) 0.2) dB. The fiber coupled optical power shall be settable to greater than +ten (10) decibel-milliwatts (dBm) across a predominate portion of the wavelength span of 1240 nm to 1380 nm and must be capable of exceeding plus (+) seven (7) dBm in the remainder. The optical power shall be mode-hop free and have a flatness of better than �0.2 dB. The laser shall be capable of providing a reconfigurable trigger output voltage signal. The laser source shall be capable of both stepping to specified wavelengths as well as repeatedly rapidly sweeping from one wavelength to another at a rate of up to at least 200 nm/second across the span of 1240 nm to 1380 nm. The output optical power shall be stable to within a minimum of �0.01 dB once set. The Laser shall be capable of being set to all chosen wavelengths to within an absolute accuracy of � five (5) picometer (pm) or better. The Side Mode Suppression Ratio (SMSR) shall exceed 45 dB. The Relative Intensity Noise (RIN) shall be better than negative (-)140 decibel/hertz (dB/Hz). The Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) shall be greater than or equal to (>=) 90 dB/0.1 nm. The Laser linewidth shall be less than or equal to (<=) 200 kilohertz (kHz). The laser source shall be computer controllable via a General-Purpose Interface Bus (GPIB), and Universal Serial Bus (USB) control ports and come with a descriptive command set. The laser source shall be powered by a North American standard 120 volts (VAC) 60 Hz 15A outlet.
