- The Department of Veterans Affairs, Regional Procurement Office Central, Network Contracting Office 10, 5500 Armstrong Road, Battle Creek, MI 49037, intends to solicit offers for a Eyesi Surgical Simulator, Brand-Name or Equal, for the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center, 4646 John R Street, Detroit, MI 48201. The Eyesi Surgical Simulator is a virtual reality training simulator (hardware and software) for intraocular surgery, including cataract and vitreoretinal surgical procedures, and is manufactured by Haag-Streit USA, Inc., 3535 Kings Mills Road, Mason, OH 45040. Simulator operating microscope for viewing a virtual reality based high resolution surgical field in stereo. Foot pedal for simulator operating microscope to control focus and zoom within the virtual reality based surgical field. Foot pedal for simulator operating microscope to control fluidics Simulator surgical handpieces/instruments that are interactive with the virtual reality based surgical field. Simulator patient head and eye for cataract surgical procedures, and simulator head and eye for vitreoretinal surgical procedures. Training software to permit intraocular surgical training requiring various levels of complexity within the virtual reality platform, including advanced training modules in management of simulated intraoperative surgical complications. Cataract surgical simulation hardware and software including basic microsurgical skills, capsulorhexis, lens segmentation, lens removal, IOL insertion (including toric IOLs), and simulation of intraoperative complications such as posterior capsular rupture. Vitreoretinal surgical simulation hardware and software including basic microsurgical skills, membrane peeling & removal, endolaser, vitrectomy, air/oil/gas exchange, and retinal detachment treatments. Software access to performance summaries of trainees with feedback to improve surgical skills. Network Contracting Office 10 anticipates entering into firm-fixed price purchase order using FAR Part 13 procedures. The applicable NAICS code is 333310 Commercial and Service Industry Machinery Manufacturing, and the Business Size Standard is 1,000 Employees. The applicable Product and Service Code (PSC) is 6540 Ophthalmic Instruments, Equipment, and Supplies. The basis of award will be lowest price, technically acceptable. The solicitation will be made available on or about May 17, 2023 and the solicitation is anticipated to close on or about June 11, 2023. No solicitation is available at this time.
