Description

The U.S. Army Contracting Command � Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG), Aberdeen Proving Ground, Natick Contracting Division, in support of the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command � Soldier Center (DEVCOM-SC) intends to award a Firm Fixed Price contract on a sole source basis to Polar Electro Inc., located at 15 Grumman Rd W, Ste 1200, Bethpage, NY, 11714-5028, under the authority as prescribed in FAR 13.106(b)(1).� The requirement is for 200 Polar Grit XPro watches. The Polar Grit X Pro is a wrist-worn wearable device that contains sensors to monitor heart rate, sleep, and activity. This watch uses sensors to collect data about heart rate and movement. The Polar Grit X Pro provides accurate activity tracking, calorie expenditure, and heart rate tracking in order to inform physical performance and training.� Buying direct from Polar Electro Inc, as the sole manufacturer of Polar Grit XPro, offers the volume discounts that other retailers cannot match for orders in the numbers required for the effort. In addition, compared to other competing wearables, the price point is far lower and provides better capabilities for the current effort.� The Polar Grit X Pro is specifically required for execution of the Measuring and Advancement of Soldier Tactical Readiness and Effectiveness (MASTR-E) Program Demonstration as the technology and data is already integrated into the platform that will be utilized to demonstrate the program capability. This will be cost and time saving to the government because additional application programming interfaces (APIs) will not need to be developed to incorporate this wearable into the demonstration platform. In addition, it provides accurate tracking of calories expended and heart rate in comparison to other wearables on the market. These are important metrics for integration into the effort. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 423990 and the size standard is 100� employees. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS.
