Description

The U.S. Army Contracting Command � Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG), Aberdeen Proving Ground, Natick Contracting Division, in support of the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command � Soldier Center (DEVCOM-SC) intends to award a Firm Fixed Price contract on a sole source basis to Thermetrics, located at 4220 24th Avenue West, Seattle, WA, under the authority as prescribed in FAR 13.106(b)(1).� The requirement is for annual scheduled preventative maintenance, as well as unlimited on-site service for repair of equipment, unlimited technical and remote support during core office hours, and supply spare parts and software upgrades required for full performance of the 3Flex surface analyzer manufactured by Micromeritics. This service is for a specialized piece of equipment that requires the supplying company to replace parts, upgrade software, calibrate, or offer technical services.� The 3Flex surface analyzer is a unique and sensitive piece of equipment, manufactured by Micromeritics, with specific parts and components unique to the instrument that can only be sourced from the manufacturer. Replacements not matching the instrument specs would cause irreparable damage. The preventative maintenance and repairs must be performed by a service technician trained on the specific 3Flex instrument in order to prevent any damage from occurring. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 811219 and the size standard is $20,500,000. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. The U.S. government will not pay for any information or administrative cost incurred in response to the Notice.� All costs associated with responding to this Notice will be solely at the expense of the interested party.
