Description
This synopsis is hereby issued in accordance with FAR Part 5.201. Naval Information Warfare Center, Pacific (NIWC Pacific) intends to award a firm-fixed-price purchase order on a sole source basis to Tekran Instruments Corporation under the authority of FAR 13.106?1(b) due to only one source being reasonably available to meet the Government's needs. Tekran Instruments Corporation CAGE: L4928 Unique Entity ID: G477T66LZGK3 Address: 330 Nantucket BLVD Scarborough, ON M1P 2P4, Canada The requirement is for the procurement of the following items: This requirement is for the procurement of instrumentation to measure methyl mercury andtotal mercury, a distiller required to measure methyl mercury in seawater, and related equipment. The purchase of instrumentation is required by the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard upon the renewal of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit governing discharges to Sinclair Inlet in accordance with the Clean Water Act. Total mercury and methylmercury are two of the pressing heavy metals of interest with the NPDES permit renewal that require long term monitoring. Purchase of instrumentation supports the evaluation of large amounts of long-term sampling data as required by their permit. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes; however, any responsible source believing that it can fulfill the requirement may be considered by the agency. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this synopsis, and must clearly show the firm's ability to be responsive without compromising the quality, accuracy, and reliability of supplies provided. Responses must be submitted in writing via email no later than 11:00 AM PST on 10 April 2023. Telephone responses and requests will not be accepted. A determination by the Government not to compete the requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Acquisition of Commercial Items under FAR Part 12 and Simplified Acquisitions Procedures under FAR Part 13 apply. The applicable NAICS Code is 334516, Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing, and the size standard is 1,000 Employees.
