- Chancery Low-Roof Roof Replacement, US Embassy Warsaw, Poland The Regional Procurement Support Office in Frankfurt, Germany, intends to issue a Firm Fixed-Price Construction type contract during the second quarter of calendar year 2023. The successful contractor shall provide complete construction services, contract coordination, and supervision, including but not limited to the management and construction necessary to meet the requirements of the contract within the established timeframe. The contractor shall complete the roof replacement and related renovations of the existing 20,000sf Low Roof on the Chancery Office Building at the U.S. Embassy located in Warsaw, Poland. Built in 1963, the Chancery building is composed of a two-story base and six story tower, constructed of concrete slab and frame with non-load bearing exterior masonry walls clad with framed windows and stone panels. The existing lower roof is a 5-ply coal tar pitch (CTP) built-up roof (BUR) with loose laid pea gravel overlay. The roof is original to the construction of the building and sits over a series of concrete leveling courses, precast panels, and insulation. The roof is tapered to internal roof drains by brick shims supporting the concrete panels. The Low Roof Replacement work includes but is not limited to: Salvage ballasted handrail system. Remove and dispose of existing roofing, flashings, and sheet metal down to concrete deck. Remove abandoned curbs and penetrations. Clean and repair deck to exposed concrete. Modify existing (12) drains so top of drain bowl is level with roof deck. Installation of (12) new drain inserts. Installation of hot rubberized asphalt membrane on existing concrete deck. Installation of new flashings at penetrations, curbs, walls, and perimeters. Installation of a slip sheet, drainage course, insulation, filter fabric, and concrete pavers in protected membrane roof (PMR) configuration. Install new sheet metal coping and fascia system. Modification to existing equipment curbs to include full sheet metal caps. Temporary rerouting of existing conduits and piping on roof. Painting of all miscellaneous ferrous metal surfaces. Reinstallation of ballasted handrail system. The magnitude of this project is anticipated to be between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000 U.S. Dollars for the entire project. In accordance with DOSAR 652.242-73 AUTHORIZATION AND PERFORMANCE (AUG 1999), it will be necessary for your organization to possess authorization to operate and do business in the country in which this contract will be performed. Contractors shall be required to provide: a.�� A thorough description as to what steps you have taken to investigate all requirements to obtain authorization to perform in the given country, b.�� Details of your findings and a description of what your organization will be required to undertake to obtain licensing, and c.�� Specific information concerning the period of time you anticipate it will take to obtain appropriate authorization.
